A Birmingham Botanical Gardens Proposal | Jack & Morgan

Jack proposed to Morgan on the most beautiful Friday afternoon at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens — and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day!

I first met Morgan through taking photos for Cahaba Valley Health Care, a nonprofit dental clinic in Birmingham that provides affordable care to people in need. I’ve photographed a few of their events, and I’ve always loved getting to know Morgan through those experiences. So when Jack reached out to me about photographing his proposal, I was so excited!

Before the big day, Jack and I met a couple of times and walked around the gardens together to find the perfect spot for him to pop the question. We landed on the sweetest tucked-away spot surrounded by greenery — romantic, quiet, and just right for the moment he had in mind.

When proposal day finally came, I got there early to hide and wait for them to arrive (which ended up being quite the adventure!). I was tucked away so well that I accidentally startled a few people walking by — but it was worth it to stay hidden!

Morgan was completely surprised when Jack got down on one knee. She had a feeling the proposal might happen that weekend, but Jack had filled their weekend with plans to throw her off. It worked perfectly — and her reaction was priceless!

After she said yes, we wandered around the gardens for some “just engaged” photos. The joy and excitement between them were contagious — they couldn’t stop smiling, laughing, and soaking in the moment.

Jack and Morgan are both such kind, genuine people, and it was such an honor to capture such a meaningful moment in their story. I’m so happy for them and wish them all the best in this next season of life!
